Roles and Responsibilities

The Nano Lending—Interswitch and LightWay Finance Project brought together a cross-functional team with clearly defined roles to ensure smooth execution from planning to go-live.

1. Project Leadership

Project Sponsor (Interswitch & LightWay Executives)

  • Provide overall strategic direction and funding

  • Approve project scope, budget, and timelines

  • Ensure alignment with organizational objectives

Project Manager (LightWay PMO Lead – Demi)

  • Oversee planning, coordination, and delivery of project tasks

  • Manage project milestones, timelines, and risks (RAID log)

  • Facilitate communication between LightWay and Interswitch stakeholders

  • Ensure documentation and reporting standards are followed

Technical Lead (LightWay – Taofeeq)

  • Own system architecture and technical solution design

  • Lead integration with Interswitch APIs (sandbox & production)

  • Guide development team on services (offer orchestration, acceptance, repayment notifications)

  • Ensure security, compliance, and scalability of the solution

2. Technical & Development Team

  • Developers (LightWay Engineering Team)

    • Build and configure microservices (eligibility, offer, repayment)

    • Implement API consumption and callback endpoints

    • Conduct unit and integration testing before deployment

  • QA/Test Engineers

    • Design and execute test plans for sandbox and production

    • Validate loan lifecycle flows (offer → acceptance → repayment)

    • Document defects and ensure timely resolution

    • Conduct regression testing after fixes

  • Infrastructure/DevOps

    • Set up and maintain sandbox and production environments

    • Manage CI/CD pipelines for deployment

    • Ensure system availability, monitoring, and rollback procedures.

3. Business & Operations

  • Business Analysts

    • Translate requirements into functional and technical specifications

    • Work with Interswitch to clarify APIs, business rules, and eligibility logic

    • Document user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Operations & Support Team

    • Handle repayment reconciliations and exception management

    • Monitor fraud alerts, compliance, and AML/KYC checks

    • Provide first-line support to end-users and escalate technical issues

  • Finance & Compliance Officers

    • Ensure loan disbursement, repayment, and fees are correctly posted to GL

    • Confirm adherence to CBN regulations, AML, and audit requirements

    • Provide inputs for reporting and regulatory compliance.

4. Interswitch

  • API Product Owners (Interswitch)

    • Provide sandbox and production API documentation and access

    • Support Lightway during integration and testing

    • Validate compliance with ILS (Interswitch Lending Service) requirements

  • Interswitch Technical Support

    • Assist with troubleshooting during sandbox and production integration

    • Guide error handling, security keys, and production onboarding

    • Approve go-live readiness after a successful pilot.
